Ghost —Parachute

Sometimes we try to avoid God,
even though we cannot possibly get away from Him.
---
Let's switch up the lyrics just a tad... shall we?

"I look behind me,"
Hmm... sounds a lot like...
"I look behind me..."
Psalm 139:5-6 MSG

"avoid the shadows
I watch my back now,
make my breathing shallow
Keep my room locked,
and leave the blinds closed..."
"He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High,
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty..."
Psalm 91:1
We've done all we could to avoid resting under His shadow,
the shadow of the Most High.

But, again, sometimes we try to avoid God,
even though we cannot possibly get away from Him.
...But You're right there, staring at my window."
"I look behind me and you're there,
then up ahead and you're there, too- you
reassuring presence, coming and going.
"This is too much, too wonderful-
I can't take it all in!"
Psalm 139:5-6

As soon as we acknowledge Him,
we find that we can't avoid Him.
His Spirit becomes our Ghost Holy Ghost.

"All I need is You.
And all I need is You.
"Whom have I in heaven but you?
And earth has nothing I desire besides you."
Psalm 139:7-8, 73:25

You're in the background, on the radio
You're in my car, in my house, waiting at my door
Under my footsteps
You're everything, You know
I'll let you haunt, let you haunt, let you be my Ghost.
"Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.

But then it comes back,
that feeling in my bones,
Like You're right there"
"...there is in my heart as it were a burning fire
shut up in my bones,
and I am weary of holding it in,
and I cannot."
Jeremiah 20:9

"This is too much, too wonderful-
I can't take it all in!"
Psalm 139:5-6

And all I need is You.
And all I need is You.
"Whom have I in heaven but you?
And earth has nothing I desire besides you."
Psalm 139:7-8, 73:25

Let Him be Your Ghost
Your Holy Ghost
He is all we need,
and thanks to His Spirit that He has given us,
there is nowhere we can't find him.
In our car,
in our house,
waiting at our door....

"for God gives the Spirit without limit." John 3:34

"And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever,
even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive,
because it neither sees him nor knows him.
You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you." John 14:16

"By this we know that we abide in him and he in us,
because he has given us of his Spirit." 1 John 4:13

"But when He, the Spirit of Truth comes, he will guide you into all truth." John 16:13
